When we arrived we wandered down the BrindleyPlace, a spotless development by part of the canal network, just for a bit of food (just boring old Slug & Lettuce, so not much interesting to report there). Then proceeded to mooch around more of central Birmingham. Bare in mind this was one of those disgustingly hot and muggy days - whinging and complaints were out in full force.
Up on the top few floors of the library (that cool abstract building in the pictures above) is a peaceful Secret Garden. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city you can see for miles(?), surrounded by colourful plants and glass - it's all very calming.
The day after my friend asked if I wanted to go to the Custard Factory - obviously I said yes?! To be put back in my place with a 'Ellie, you realise it's not an actual factory that makes custard..', yeah, of course I knew that... In reality its a shopping arcade basically invisible unless you know its there. Colourful flags and buildings, cute little independent vintage shops, such a hidden gem.
The final picture is of the amazing coloured sky over the reservoir close to my friends house.. Still getting to grips with my camera so I feel the picture could be a tad better than it turned out!
Have you ever visited Birmingham - Brindley Place, The Secret Garden or The Custard Factory?
